Sankaku took it down as well, presumably to avoid Sony trying to destroy them.
Seems like an open-and-shut case of fair use to me to report on something Sony put on a model in their own game. It's not like the game is unreleased or anything, either.
But why? If they don't want people finding out you modelled your character anatomically correct then maybe you shouldn't of done so in the first place? Just thinking out loud .
Sometimes it's done by developers without their supervisors notice or permission. There is potential for this to hurt them financially if the story carries. Unlikely because of the media focus on Ukraine, but here is still some risk.
The GTA Hot Coffee thing was something removed from the game (but still on the disk) and when hackers found it, it caused the game to be banned from retail stores like Wal-Mart, where most bought their games at the time. You could only access it with a modded console, but the damage was done.
Other times it's only semi-legit. 2B's ass didn't have a visible asshole, but it was reported that way (with modified images). 2B did have a very high poly, well sculpted ass that definitely intended by the supervisor.
Part of it could be simply that Sony is a behemoth of a corporation, and the people in charge of the matter now had no input to the original decision to make the model realistic.
Given that there were multiple stories before the release about how the devs were so proud of the detail on the model, perhaps they simply went a bit overboard, or they wanted to make clothes fit as realistically as possible and didn't have the foresight to realize someone would find out.
I don't disagree, half the site is coomer clickbait and j-list ads pretending to be news.
But, with Censored Gaming not being reliable, they seem to be the first place to talk about games getting censored so I do scan the headlines every now and then.
They probably just want to follow the path of least resistance - if you haven't noticed the site is a mess. They're not a bastion of journalism and never has been.
It's a tabloid site, and it actually has a lot of people who think like 4channers and on this board there, so the comment sections are a lulzy mess.
So there's a shitload of clickbait coomer shit, and a lot of it is them throwing shit at the wall to see what fits.

They really seem to want to hide this.

Yoko Taro is a man of culture.
The hero we deserve.
That's a really good question.

I think they refused to risk a host deciding to screw them over in response to this.
