They probably just want to follow the path of least resistance - if you haven't noticed the site is a mess. They're not a bastion of journalism and never has been.

It's a tabloid site, and it actually has a lot of people who think like 4channers and on this board there, so the comment sections are a lulzy mess.

So there's a shitload of clickbait coomer shit, and a lot of it is them throwing shit at the wall to see what fits.
