I don't like Putin nor the Russian government, but what is with the MSM's obsession with trying to shut out the other side?
When we hear North Korea spew its propaganda about the US do we shut them out? No, we let them run their mouths and fucking mock them. Fuck, even Trump mocked Rocket Man during his term of office and he still managed to convince them to let us talk to them.
Suddenly the shit we put up with from Russia is being cleaned from the Internet, just like how China does it with their Internet, now it's state-sponsored censorship.
To be fair Russia is fairly unique in that its state-controlled news media has a significant presence in direct non-Russian-language broadcasts, regardless of whether it's actually being used for propaganda. RT is one of the foreign news outlets I see the most of, other than British ones. I could probably go find some news media from North Korea, Iran, or even China, but I've never naturally encountered it (other than the South China Morning Post, a Hong Kong paper that China recently co-opted to push more propaganda).

Right, it bugs the fuck out of me any state-sponsored media is considered a legitimate source, that includes the BBC.
State-controlled or not, the BBC is not appreciably worse than media outlets not controlled by the state.
That's not exactly comforting....
Which media outlets aren't controlled by the state?
RT, CBC, BBC, all cut from the same cloth.
