We are all really manipulated from the top. Even in this current schism between those of us clutching our pearls over the latest crisis, and those who think we are "enlightened" and able to see mass psychosis for what it is, it's not unlikely that we are targets of Russian/Chinese/others astroturfing and psyops. There are groups who wish to destabilize our politics and widen existing cultural divides, as the Soviets did since the 50s, and the CIA/State has done to other countries. Propaganda can be true. We just have to be aware enough to recognize it, not make hasty analytical conclusions based on the latest news, or base decisions on simply opposing our ideological enemies since most people around us are just pawns and don't even have a consistent ideology.
But yes obviously the liberal establishment has far greater power except in these backwater corners of the web, and the current psyop of YOU ARE WITH UKRAINE OR YOU ARE THE ENEMY is working on some people here.
Russia isn't even trying to push propaganda in any way comparative to Ukraine.
