Just going to point that Turkey is in NATO.
And the ortodox church is not as united as the catholic church. Greece, Romania and Bulgaria are ortodox and I doubt any of them want Russia to gain more power.
Also, nato won't protect Turkey. There will be an excuse, and either Russia gets what it wants from Turkey or Russia invades and nato will dither and bluster like it always does. It will probably happen as a 'peace keeping mission' under a civil war like what happened in Syria.
That is a step that Putin will not make. He will not attack NATO so careless. Either he has already made some kind of deal with China to nuke US out of existence, I find that unlikely, or he will not move against NATO.
He did not attack Ukraine when Trump was president, this tells me he does not want a world war.
Maybe US will not attack Russia but can he take that chance?
See the thing is I think NATO is willing to sacrifice turkey. They have already moved to exclude turkey from European Union and world matters. Erdogan is not playing ball and it's pissing off the EU leaders and America. This is why their country is in a financial death spiral. They are doing the same thing to Turkey as they have been doing to the Ukraine. That's why I believe Putin is actually working with the European leaders. This Ukraine invasion while it has been a complete cluster fuck seems to be pre-planned.
And by this I don't mean that the European Union wants it under Russian control. I think it was negotiated as something that Russia wanted and the European Union and maybe the United States we're willing to concede. I'm not entirely certain the United States was willing to conceive this during negotiations because Democratic and Republican leaders have so much invested in stripping Ukraine of money.
Russian Orthodox Church is only Orthodox, xaxaxa - Russia Ball.
Seriously, though, I threw that in as a wink towards their historical propaganda. Orthodox isn't united, but still holds dreams of the rise of Western Rome again. Putin is Orthodox, whether adherent or just for political reasons, it doesn't matter. It's still a political propaganda narrative for them.
You keep screaming that Putin is irrational and crazy like a MSM drone but that is not the current state of events.
Putin is an authoritarian but that doesn't make him crazy, his current invasion is the result of decades of geopolitical policy failures induced by globalists, Ukrainian leadership as well as Russian leadership.
Saying that the current Russian invasion is a result of terrible geopolitical miscalculations from every party involved which includes Russia, Ukraine and the globalists who used Ukraine as a bargaining chip and that the U.S. shouldn't get involved in the conflict in Ukraine doesn't make someone an FSB shill.
I see that I am dealing with a mentally ill leftist NPC who calls anyone they disagree with a Russian bot.
You are losing it man. Again Putin is not an idiot, nothing he has done has warranted this label.
He may make mistakes, he is definitely evil but he is no fool or idiot. I just find it hard to believe he is going to nuke a neighboring country. I can see him nuking other countries but not Ukraine.
And dude you seem way to emotional, just relax a bit. Being emotional is not helping you or anyone.
If you can help Ukrainians do it, if not just play it chill. If you are in Ukraine and want to get out you can. Poland, Romania, Moldova are all taking in refugees.
Keep in mind that the last thing anyone needs is hope for Putin to lose, is the best way to ensure he is going to use the nuclear option. I hate what Putin is doing but I do not see any good scenarios here.
The best I can think off is Russia annexes the 2 russian areas as per their original borders and Ukraine signs that they are not going to apply to join NATO.
Maybe Putin will concede and retreat from Ukraine if the cost is to great, this is probably the best option but I just do not see Putin doing that.
Nobody's nuking anybody. Mutually Assured Destruction is still a thing. If Russia or China launched a nuke they'd destroy the world through the retaliatory strikes. Putin may want to rule the world, but he doesn't want to rule over a nuclear wasteland.
That is the thing, I do not know if US would use the nuke in retaliation. The west have been very non-aggressive and Putin may just say screw it, I will rather risk a nuke then lose. A chance to win is better then no chance.
And lets not forget Iran that is very close to having nukes, how fast would they nuke up with a bit of help from Putin.
I may just be pessimistic and o boy do I want to be wrong this time.
Kinda agree but I don't think he would go so far as to use a nuke. He can level cities like Russia's military did in Syria but even that would probably draw a military response from Western countries.
Comment Approved: It's definitely close to a known falsehood, but there are a lot of people who just assume that Putin is insane, just like they believe Trump is completely insane.

I dont think NATO would sacrifice Turkey. They have major pipelines running through their country that they won't want Russia controlling.

I will say that if OneTruePhilosoraptor is a Fed, we probably converted him, rather than him infiltrating us.
Do not believe the hype. He is not going to nuke a country next to Russia. Putin is many things but a fool he is not.

Any other option may lead to Russia going postal.

I'm sorry but you're a fool if you think the US wouldn't retaliate, regardless of who the president is.
There would be no more politics if a nuke flies.

The real threat to Turkey is Turkey.
Almost three quarters of young turks want to get out of Turkey (and that was before the inflation hit in Autumn/Winter) because it's a shitshow.
