You literally cannot find an historical precedent for such rapid demographic change that does not involve invasion, war, and/or genocide.

Hard to believe it's not part of something deliberate isn't it?

I wouldn't have been surprised at a 10% drop but 90% to 60% without any major external events...that's nuts. WWII ended in 1945.
