Unless a guy is born chad, born into money, or has a solid multi-generational family support system he is boned. The cracks were starting to show in the late 80s and I can't imagine how bad it is now.
Of my family friends kids all but maybe 2 boys are messed up soimehow. And one o the good ones is constantly shit on for being too "aggressive" or "bullying" when he is really just showing a bit of confidence and not automatically deferring to women. He will probably be drugged at some point if he isn't already.
I certainly felt that push to just retreat and ldar but I also felt the instinct to have kids and not be a "loser" which made me get my shit together enough to do that.
Survivorship bias. Depressed pilots have a very quick solution. How many of those flight recorder techs figure out it was a suicide but tell the family it was a mechanical issue to ease their minds?
