Just browsing the news bumped into two unrelated stories today, from small town California to large.
Los Angeles is one of the biggest school districts in the country.
LAUSD Is Handing Out Rapid Tests For Baseline COVID Testing; The district requires all students and staff to have the negative COVID-19 test for a baseline in addition to weekly testing. - https://laist.com/news/education/lausd-is-handing-out-rapid-tests-for-baseline-testing-heres-where-to-go
Mendocino County schools ahead of the curve in distributing COVID tests - https://www.ukiahdailyjournal.com/2022/01/07/mendocino-county-schools-ahead-of-the-curve-in-distributing-covid-tests/
What did you think the osha vaccine mandates were? Weekly testing of unvaccinated while vaccinated superspreaders walked freely.
I wonder if each positive test counts as a positive case, rather than 2 positive tests counting as one positive case.
"We introduced mandatory testing in the city."
"Okay, what are the results?"
"This month, there have been 45,000 infections"
"There's only 30,000 people in the town."
"Yes, but each positive test counts as a new infection."
Infection mean literally nothing. We are constantly “infected”. What matters is when infection causes disease. This is one of the word games they play. Infection and disease are separate. You can be “infected” multiple times with no antibodies built, but the disease is when you build immunization.
That's one of the reasons I've had to explain to people that these vaccines can't prevent infection. The Media is intentionally confusing infection with noticeable illness and even hospitalization.
This was confirmed as how the major hospital system in my city was handling it on the numbers they were showing.
Have somebody admitted and you test them every day? That positive test adds to the total each day.
Not that I'm aware of, but that's what I figured.
Where I live no one gives a fuck. I think we all have omicron but no one is testing. We're treating it like the cold it is. I went to karaoke last night and the DJ mentioned that everyone sounds "nasally."
I live in a very blue place. People here are treating omicron like the Black Death.
As well it should be treated. I’m glad I live in Texas and not New York or Chicago
I recently learned about "pool testing" in my local school district. Basically the school selects a dozen random students, shoves Q-Tips under their noses, sends the Q-Tips to some shady MIT company, and if any the Q-Tips test positive, then the school is forced to undergo more testing. Of course, nobody questions how 1) this can be abused to keep schools permanently closed, 2) what the shady company is doing with the DNA data collected from the Q-tips, 3) why only the White-majority schools in the district are pool testing but others are not.
It’s insane, all of our school sports teams have to get tested three times a week.
Honestly why do people get tested for no reason? But positive tests just make the media happy. They can keep beating the dead horse and peddle hysteria
Many workplaces coerce their employees to get tested.
That’s true
The Kiwis need to be tested for Covid as well.
I think they're trying to stretch the coof to the Nov. elections and they're going to come up with massive positive numbers by inundating the US with pumped up positive test results using captive millions of school kids.
Well shit, look at all those positive cases
GUESS YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO DO MAIL IN BALLOTS
... OP, how did you get your 2nd quote to have justified alignment???
They started getting tests ready in 2017…
