Plus in blazing saddle the humor came in the fact that a black sheriff was not something commonplace. I totally understand what you mean though. Let us know if the show redeems itself.
Oh yes! I think the pilot is still on YouTube. I think a TV series of blazing saddles could work on hbo in the 80s or 90s. Wouldn’t trust it today. Also I know Brooks wanted Richard Pryor for the sheriff originally
You are right. I had forgotten. I’m originally from Oklahoma and have lived in Texas for the last 16 years and pride myself on my western knowledge. I know some say he inspired the Lone Ranger but not sure that’s accurate.
It seems like it would be good. I still have a little bit of doubt about new South Park episodes that started with the cringe episode with Wendy as the main character and increased after I watched South ParQ, which was even more cringe, but at least it wasn't feminist.
I guess I'll get some throwaway info to register with.
Yellowstone is one of the few modern shows I watch. Was gonna give 1883 a chance but I don’t have paramount plus.
Yar har, fiddle lee hee...
Oh yea. I’m still naive at times.
Use s VPN and go to lookmovie.io using s browser like Brave. Anything you want will likely be there to stream on demand.
That’s on my list to watch. I’ve heard good things
Worth giving it a watch? I could use something to binge during my Christmas holiday.
Longmire is great. Watch it.
Roger that. On the binge list it goes.
Let me know what you think.
Late response. Got through the first season and its good. Im thinking i might try and find the books too.
Longmire, Yellowstone, 1883. Ill be busy then. Thanks for the recommend. ill try and see if I can find it this side of the pond.
Black law man worked in blazing saddles. Lol. But I get your point.

No, what’s it about?

He says the sheriff is a-near!
Excuse me while I whip this out
Mongo just pawn in game of life
Candy gram for mongo
If you shoot him, you'll just make him mad.
You know… morons.
There were black cowboys, outlaws, lawmen, Indians, slave owners.
One of them was "the real Lone Ranger" (Marshal actually): https://www.wearethemighty.com/popular/wild-wests-toughest-lawman/
Very true. A lot of different people moved out west. Fascinating history

That's quite odd opinion, I can't imagine a modern show with the heroes shooting Indians to be woke.
I watched the first episode, not bad, it's a fun little gritty western with lots of pew pews.
I wonder if the battleaxe aunt is gonna knock boots with the black sidekick before season 2.
Edit: oh...
Yeah I have no issue with black characters, I just don't like raceswap casting and quotabased "token" characters.
But black ex-buffalo soldiers venturing out west is more or less a classic trope now so I have no issues with it.
I'ma keep watching woke rot / diminishing returns catches up to the show.
How was the South Park special? Only reason anyone should subscribe to that platform anyway.
I found them both alright. I haven't cared much for the past few seasons admittedly.
I wasn't impressed. They crack a lot of jokes on the unvaccinated labeling them as selfish.
I was about to ask the same thing.
Let's face it, everything else on a ViacomCBS owned platform will be garbage. This post is only a surprise if you didn't know who owned Paramount.
Still, it's not as bad as what gets funded by AT&T.
