Plus in blazing saddle the humor came in the fact that a black sheriff was not something commonplace. I totally understand what you mean though. Let us know if the show redeems itself.

Oh yes! I think the pilot is still on YouTube. I think a TV series of blazing saddles could work on hbo in the 80s or 90s. Wouldn’t trust it today. Also I know Brooks wanted Richard Pryor for the sheriff originally
