If he's found not guilty, he has dynamite cases lined up against multiple mainstream media outlets. He might never have to work again. That's some consolation.
Did anyone think back in the day when we thought "I just want to play video games" it would end up in a full struggle against ESG shadow puppets, techno-anarchists with global biological warfare (COVID), and the rainbow neo-puritans leading modern day witch-hunts/assaults against normal citizens?
It's like something out of a freaking video game. :/
There were people who when they were thrown into the pit didn't like the other sorts of people who were in the pit with them, so they did everything they could to hyper-limit the scope of their objections as a form of loser denial so they could maintain their self-image as a "liberal".
My canonical example of this was when PSA Sitch (who used to comment on Half) made a video defending women joining the Boy Scouts and trying to explain how that sort of subversion was totally different than what happened with video games and not worth objecting to.
Yeah, despite being thrown into the pit they still cannot let go of who they were beforehand. There are many things they learned that became a part of their identity like equality, democracy, freedom, etc. They struggle coming to terms with the fact that the world is not how they have been led to believe and come up with excuses.
That's what happens when you place other gods before the truth. If you care about something like equality more than the truth, you will lie to yourself in order to maintain that state of mind.
But if that isn't the case you might be able to think "What if this thing I believe in isn't actually true?" and slowly but surely change yourself.
It took me something like 5 years browsing KiA (and KiA2) to come to terms with reality.
so they could maintain their self-image as a "liberal".
Is a label really so important? Idk. I've never been one for labels. Yeah, free-speech, equality under the law, freedom of expression, all of that's great. I still hold to a lot of the same ideas and views I had when I was younger and I'm sure those who just have to call themselves liberal are the same way. But—and I know all of us here know this—standing idly by because you're a "liberal" and have the obligation to be an EnLiGhTeNeD cEnTrIsT doesn't do anything but let the leftists pull the rug out from under you. That'll happen and the world these "liberals" knew and loved will be gone and they will be crying out "how did this happen???" Or if not that then they'll be snarking from the gulags. Snark's about all they're good for.
I like their videos, but it's damned annoying people like Sitch and ShortFatOtaku continue on this middle-ground tack when they should know better. You don't even have to call yourself conservative if you don't want to. Just realize we don't have the luxury of standing in any sort of middle-ground anymore. Maybe we never did.

Of course, he'll probably be assassinated.

No.
And even more, you still have people who think it's just about keeping the "ESS JAY DUBBYOUS" out of video games. Looking at you kia1.
I have no idea how we could be 7 years post-gamergate and still have people not seeing the bigger picture

Real Deus Ex hours.
And none of us are fighting back with mechs and alien tech.... Yet....
You wouldn't have believed me, but actually I envision it going a lot further.
