I don't think self-destructive moral degradation is a solution to the problem. I don't have any hard numbers of course, but a culture that valued innocent life too much to kill its own unborn children would be better neighbours than the culture that exists today.
It's been a while since I researched the topic but I remember there are a number of countries in Africa that certainly do put a high value on human life. IMHO this is primarily due to the strong Christian influence. Some countries like Malawi are actually safer than places like the UK and France.
It kinda boils my blood when they bring up their careers as something that wouldn't have happened if they didn't abort.
