Matt Walsh should not be trusted: his take on Ahmed Auberry ("what man doesn't wander around construction sites?") was embarrassingly cringe even for a "conservative commentator", as was his little fundraiser for AOC's grandmother. But the former really does keep me from ever taking him seriously; and he kept doubling down on it too SMH.

That said, the right wing needs to go way beyond where Trump was willing to tread (and where Matt Walsh is willing to tread, because even Trump went places Walsh wouldn't), and Trump probably will be an impediment to that. But certainly if we win Trump needs to be the "John the Baptist" character who paves the way. Or the "Moses" character who led us where we needed to go but was too flawed to himself go there.
