They don't need tax money, they can and will just print more into existence if they must. Taxes are mostly there to convince us that their fiat has any value at all. Yes our economy is bullshit that's been lit on fire, but the fire started a long time ago and for the most part the rulers been able to ensure that the negative economic impacts of the boom and bust cycle is shunted onto the general public and away from their economic interests, or they would have fixed the boom and bust cycle a long time ago. It's on purpose and for their benefit and allows them to fund their wars and interests and deflect the consequences onto the people.
Look into the Austrian Business Cycle Theory and CBDC's. Our rulers blowing up the economy is just a wonderful opportunity to remake it from their perspective, because after all, it wasn't a very "sustainable" economy which is sinful in their view.
