So, the day finally came that my employer claims they're going to be requiring all employees (even remote workers like me) to get the jab. My employer is a federal contractor, so apparently this isn't the same EO that's just a press release (the one for all companies with some number of workers); this one is apparently real.
I have a few of the compilations for how to write up a religious exemption (the one by Gab and the one by Robert Barnes), but does anyone have any information about the lawsuits that were in process against the EO? It's only been a month so I doubt there's any movement, but wanted to double check.
Disclaimer: this is theorycraft as I've never had to do this.
Pay an attorney to write up your exemption request. Delivery it in person and make whoever takes it sign a copy affirming she received it.
Since an exemption request paints a target on your back anyway might as well go all in on it.
That's actually really good advice. Forcing the employer to sign it might put the fear of litigiousness in them, and think twice about pursuing forced mandates on those who claim religious exemptions.
Very good advice.
Mine is as well, probably many with the deadline for federal contractors being later this year. I'm wondering though if the executive order requires them to verify or enforce the religious exemptions much. At the moment I get the idea they will be rubber stamping those because they only care about meeting the requirement and not actually enforcing.
The government seems to be trying to prevent any and all medical and religious exemptions. They're even trying to force people with natural antibodies which are better to get the shot.
OP might want to get a covid antibody (serology) test anyway to have as backup (if positive), but since he works for a federal contractor, I have no idea how effective it will be. It may be more effective if fed work is only a smaller portion of their work.
If people don't have control of their own bodies, they have control over nothing, and government always wants more power.
Exactly.
This is the line.
Shall we live as slaves or as free men?
It's not irrational: they want to establish a database under their control of the people who are allowed to earn a living. They want the power to remove you from that database - regardless of your vaccination status - if you step out of line.
Which tells you it has nothing to do with the virus
