He was the Bond I grew up with. Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies are great, the latter having aged extremely well.

It all went downhill after Connery. James Bond works best during the Cold War 60's.

SPECTRE was a good addition to the franchise as a globalist force, though misused because the people making films are globalists. But if they had the balls to do it (which of course they don't), it would be an excellent foil to a more nationalist Britain. Especially if they started really leaning on the whole "we've infiltrated and subverted all levels of government" plot point.

I don't know; the only Marvel comics I really followed were X-men in the late 80s/early 90s.

Ironically it was Austin Powers that caused the Craig reboot of the Bond series. They felt they were not serious enough and that Austin Powers highlighted that to parody levels.

Also know as "no fun allowed".
