There’s no such thing as an ethnic Jew, it would be the equivalent of me saying I’m a Catholic Deist. He’s an Ashkenazi ethnicity, he floats the term Jew to get privileges.
Imagine being this stupid, the majority of Jews who survived the Holocaust survived because they were intermarried with Aryans and not sent to camps until near the end of the war. If the kids in the family were not being raised Jewish then no one in the family were not required to were a star. Try actually knowing anything you are talking about instead of spewing left hurr durr generalizations.
Right, so people who were able to HIDE the fact that they were Jewish were the ones who survived the longest. That's obvious.
Are you Jewish? I have sometimes heard the argument that Jewishness isn't an ethnicity, but mostly from Jews who were involved in an argument that Judaism is just a religion in the same vein as Christianity and Islam.
Except that it's not. Judaism has one of the lowest rates of in-conversion of any religion, it's generally matrilineal, and there are strong genetic correlations across almost all Jews, whether Sephardic, or Ashkenazi, etc.
But let's spot you one further and just assume that all of your bad information is correct. The mere existence of someone like Berlatsky, who identifies as both Jewish and Athiest, or Isaac Asimov (from Wikipedia: "I attend no services and follow no ritual and have never undergone that curious puberty rite, the Bar Mitzvah. It doesn't matter. I am Jewish."), Noam Chomsky, or any number of other non-religious Jews, Jewishness is an ethnic AND cultural grouping. Would I, a non-Jewish, be accepted as Jewish merely by adopting Jewish cultural pracrices? No.
No, it didn't work this way. Not at all. One had to be declared a Honorary Aryan (or just a German) through connections and/or special merit. About which: things like merely WWI medals and such was not enough.
And the Soviet Jewish often-atheists were usually not even interned, or processed in any way, but just shot out of hand.
(On one occasion Himmler was personally disturbed by witnessing a blonde blue-eyed Jewish boy being led to be shot in Ukraine. But he said "I can't do anything for you.")
He’s Ashkenazi ethnicity, religion is a choice, he chose to “leave” Judaism. This leaves him as an Ashkenazi atheist. Just like we say Ashkenazi Jew not Jewish Jew.
His ethnicity is Jewish, and his religion is atheist.

So you think the Nazis were like "Ok, if you renounce Yahwe, you can come join the Aryan party over here?"
HMmm...

Are you fucking retarded?
