Even if she wasn't vaccinated, according to CDC data, there have been a whole 200 deaths with covid for girls under the age of 17. 200, over a year and a half. Even if she gets a bad case and coughs all over her daughter, her daughter will almost certainly be fine.

For the viewers of that statement, yes, the speaker is assuming they are bad at math or too unmotivated to run the numbers.
