You'd be better off going to a trade school or being an apprentice. If you're into tech get a job as an overnight NOC monkey and work your way up to developer.
I, too, like to knock college, however you'd have to get an engineering degree to get my job. Specifically. Not all programming jobs. But it does open doors.
