Yeah, they always named the kills previously. I figured they killed some nobodies and just hyped it up for PR. Now it looks like they either killed innocents or NGO terrorists (which they can never acknowledge because then people might realise NGOs are horseshit).
This is difficult. On the one hand, it's not unlikely some officer looking to score points cherry picked intel to kill an innocent. On the other hand, this guy works for an NGO, so no love lost here, but also water canisters are commonly used in bombs.
He could be an innocent, bad target. He could be an NGO worker, meh target. He could be a bomb maker, good target. He could be an NGO worker making bombs or even a western intelligence asset, and at that level of spy games it's impossible to make a moral judgement from the outside except to condemn the GAE for fucking up again.
I also think it's the same NYT employee who discovered the video evidence that, unlike Han Solo, Kyle Rittenhouse didn't shoot first.
Haha gotta love when journalists "discover" something. Most of us were watching that in near real time and knew exactly what happened the next day.
Well, so at least he made it public officially.
Which puts him as the most honest NYT employee. Admittedly, that bar is only a few microns high, but still.
