At this point, it's no longer about health for a lot of people. In the past year and a half, the government's suddenly gained the ability to determine where you can go, what jobs you can have, and even what you can do in your own home, to an extent. The one thing they have yet to be able to regulate is your own body.

So it's a matter of principle. They withhold from the government the one thing that it can't take. Even if the vaccine was determined to be 100% safe, 100% effective, and the pandemic really was as deadly for everyone as its portrayed, they still would not do it.
