Does Discord have anything to prevent those from occurring?
Not really. Each server is created and run by a local hierarchy of various janny positions (think mods on Faggit), and then there's the global jannies that have access to all the servers and can purge entire servers (think Faggit admins). They've already purged a bunch of communities for "hate" just like Faggit. The only difference I've seen is they'll just nuke the server instead of installing troons in janny positions to destroy them from within first.
I thought Discord was purging wrongthink now.

I think if we did try to make a Discord server we'd be dealing with another Faggit type situation, assuming they didn't just purge us immediately.

There is a matrix server, though I don't know how active it is.
