acquired taste, it took a few eps for me to get used to his style - I'm over 200 podcasts in at this point. Some of them are really strong with great advice and most of them have interesting stories
once I realized that he switches, without transition, between himself who is pretty much a grown boy who gets excited about shooting guns and rasslin' and the caricature of himself who exemplifies his impressive biography I "groked" the podcast
his podcast "character" is the person he thinks everyone expects to find when they hear "20 year navy seal commander, bigshot leadership consultant, black belt"
imo he doesn't take himself seriously but he stays in character so he gives the listener the option to take him as seriously as they choose to, because for some people that really helps apply the generally good advice he gives out
commies maintain control by requiring a constant stream of public displays of party loyalty that only the ideologically possessed can maintain
Thanks!
I have immense respect for Jocko but I don't find him to be a particular good listen.

I remember seeing him on Rogan before he started his own podcast and thought he was well read and had fascinating stories from combat.
I also like how he characterizes evil incarnate and the struggle against it.
I could just never actually get into his podcast. Probably because I don’t enjoy the "be the best you can be" narratives, even if they make sense.
