The funny thing is Harry Potter's story in a lot of ways opposes their way of thinking. They just aren't smart enough to realize that in the real world they are actually the villains.
Leftist ideology only functions from the position of the underdog. That's why they have to frame everything in terms of oppression, even when they have all the power. You can't "fight the system" if you are the system. CRT is great for this. You can claim Oprah and Lebron are oppressed while white middle America overdoses in a shack.
The most blatant example of this in recent fiction was the Star Wars sequel trilogy. It made no sense for the empire to remain a dominant power after Return of the Jedi or The Force Awakens, but subsequent films always framed the bad guys as bafflingly ascendant despite crushing losses. This wasn't just bad world building, though; this was about the left-wing producers understanding their leftist audience. They need to root for "rebels" even if it makes no sense.
The prequel trilogy was garbage - because the direction, dialogue, and performances were terrible - but I give Lucas credit for the overarching story of a seemingly decent "United Nations" turning corrupt and evil. You'd never see the current stewards of the franchise boldly subverting the Democratic space government of Star Wars.
And these are the people who gleefully subverted literally everything else, including beloved characters. But they just couldn't permit a story wherein big government becomes the villain again. Nope, it's gotta be inexplicably powerful space Nazis, logic and continuity be damned.

They don't read the books, they just osmose the general setting from fanfiction and deviantart.
