Lol, I wasn't expecting this, I thought Peterson was smarter than this. The Woke cult doesn't want to compromise, it wants to win!!! And it is wining.
He's a Canadian classical liberal, and classical liberalism is 19th century ideology in which mediation was highly important. Unfortunately, like all classical liberals and conservatives in the 20th century, he fails to understand that socialism (and its tag alongs) cannot be reasoned with.
The public can be, and are being, won over. However, all the public will in the world (whilst useful) doesn't matter if you don't get the leavers of powers and use them to bring the hammer down on the left and their mad dream. The end justifies the means for them, and under no circumstances can we allow them to reach that end.
You hit the nail on the head.
The Lolbertarians and Cuckservatives really annoy the piss out of me with their "let the chips fall in place" mentality instead of realizing that the broader scope of the Left's plan is far more insidious than what it appears.
The Right also refuses to acknowledge the broader zeitgeist of the Left's control (i.e., of media, politics, academia, and even entertainment). They keep trying to reduce the influence to segmented aspects of culture-creep that -- as you mentioned -- they can just meme or "gotcha!" away, or political influence that they can alter at the next primaries or mid-terms, rather than recognizing that it's ALL one big behemoth moving in unison towards its intended goal.
This is it. It's like how you have some who still think apologizing when you anger the mob does anything except dig you a deeper grave. They can't even see the rules changed.
He fails to understand that the postmodernism underpinning the CRT and DIE ideology he understands are untenable is a weapon specifically designed to tear the foundations out from under the classical liberalism he - and I - prefer.
Classical liberalism was defeated and replaced by socialism. Sometimes literally, if you count the Bolsheviks and their concentration camps for anarchists and other dissenters.
Of course, FDR also had concentration camps in the US.
Given Kavanaugh's voting habits, I'm not so certain his resignation would have been a bad thing.
I'm still waiting on my "Chief Justice Clarence Thomas and eight Clarence Thomas clones" SCOTUS.
Or maybe Robo-Scalia?
Scalia was less willing to limit the scope of government than Thomas is. While I thought he was a good justice to have on the court, he wasn't completely in line with my views (or the Constitution, as I understand it) at times.
What track record does he have successfully fighting the left that would lead you to expect better?
For the moment put aside all talk of him being controlled opposition, a gatekeeper to keep people from going further right, and focus on the things we definitely do know about him. He's an academic who has spent his professional career teaching at universities. What track record do his strategies have in the universities he's been a part of? Has he been able to stem the tide there? Or do they march ever further left as he at best acts as the occasional speed bump?
All these people from the academy, the Jordan Petersons, Brett Weinsteins, James Lindsays, etc... should be asked one question and only this question until they answer it to our satisfactionl: given that you have been so ineffective at preventing this Woke infection in universities -- which is effectively the exclusive domain of liberal and left-wing individuals and ought to the be the ideal proving ground for your ideas -- why should we follow your recommendations for what to do in society as a whole?
Your mistake is assuming Jordan Peterson is a good actor and not a vile force for subversion, meant to blunt the righteous anger of those who object to their mistreatment.
