can't remember where i saw it but apparently the second film was supposed to feature more of luke actually teaching rey stuff

its apparently part of why mark hamill fucking hates it all now

That and the total character assassination of Luke Skywalker. There's nothing in Luke's character post RotJ that would lead to the Luke we see in TLJ. It's like Johnson stopped watching SW mid way through ESB and then wrote TLJ.
