I pretty much never care when famous people or musicians or whatever die, but this is genuinely a sad thing to hear. I love Berserk, and the hiatuses sucked but I was always just waiting to see the story continued on.
Damn, only 54 years old, too. I remember people always joking about how much it would suck if he died before it ended but I don’t think anyone was expecting it to be like this.
Berserk is excellent, I was never really into Manga or Anime before but Berserk showed me what a great medium it could be, and if I hadn’t been turned on to berserk I never would have discovered so many other awesome stories.
Hopefully he’s left some notes or some kind of story outline so that maybe somebody else could finish it up. Still wouldn’t be the same though.
I wouldn't care if it got drawn just a text outline of how it was to end. The last part I read had them trying to fix Kaska's (did I spell it close?) mind, so at least Guts got that small victory before it stopped.
I read a lot of manga when I was younger but the only series I actually invested money into acquiring was Berserk. 40 volumes just doesn't feel like enough now.
The more I dwell on this the more important I find this development. I think the reason why this is such a sorrowful loss is because this man was an overwhelming force of creation. He was creating something beautiful and sharing it with the world. Losing that force for putting good into the world is more devastating than all the other mayhem going on in the world. Beautiful and compelling art is such a precious and rare thing, so to lose someone who brought so much of it into the world is a genuine tragedy. Such art makes this world a better place and we are all worse off for losing it.
Don’t know who that is or what that is that he created but I nearly lost my husband two years ago from a massive aortic dissection. He had to have aortic stenosis surgery to repair the damage and stop further tearing. Doctors said he us a walking miracle.
I'm a weakling, so Berserk was always too much for me, but I loved the art style and one of my favourite bands was inspired by it and a lot of their songs are actually about the characters, so indirectly it gave me a lot of enjoyment.
Man that sucks. I just seem to pick series that will never end. First, Wheel of Time, and no I don't consider the ones written by another author a completion -- they felt nothing like Jordan's work. Also, High School of the Dead. Plus quite a few others, and now Berserk. I was reading that since it came out. Sad, sad day. They're works will be remembered by never finished.
We lost Monkey Punch a few years ago, and now Miura Kentaro died in one of the worst ways possible. Rest in peace, you glorious bastard. Say hi to Monkey Punch for us.
I am personally very saddened to read this news today.
Berserk is one of the greatest pieces of fiction I ever had the pleasure of reading.
RIP to a truly legendary mangaka.
We have lost a great artist and also it means that we will probably never see the Berserk manga's ending.
2021 continues to be a horrendous year.

RIP Miura-san

NO
God fucking dammit.
This is the worst news I've heard all year.
Seven years on the boat is nothing compared to an eternity on elf island. Poor Guts, never going to get his revenge
Shit. He was one of the best artist of our time.
Thank you for all of your hard work. RIP you glorious son of a bitch.
He truly was.

Sadness.....T_T and i didn't think he'd actually die before finishing the manga. RIP.

Bless this guy, rest in peace.

He was 54. But, the legacy he leaves our world with is vast, an outpouring of sorrow and respect and grief.
play gatsu theme.
Late to the party, but it's possible the vaccination killed Miura, complete speculation though.
Fucking hell.
This boils my blood if true.
Obligatory: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPPlW_sLoXM](RIP long sword man.)
That’s what got John Ritter years ago.
