They don't care if people didn't enjoy it, it's about propaganda. That's why it won game of the year too, of course curated by "industry veterans" and journalists. It's about generating a false consensus.
The purpose is to control and ultimately lobotomize the industry, because white men enjoy it. This thread touches on that a bit.
This is why the whole "get woke go broke" thing is just a cope. A game bombing or not selling much is just loose change for these megacorps, its all about the agenda.
Property destruction can be more effective than boycotts

For the largest corporations, I don't think that they give a crap about that either. When a Target or Dollar General gets looted, the company just restocks. When the mom and pop corner store gets looted, they go out of business. If anything, Burn-Loot-Murder's "summer of love" helps get rid of the small business competition for the megacorps.
I'm talking about long-term campaigns of destruction. Not the once in awhile tantrums of Berserk Loser Marxists and An-queef-ia.
The day the right finally learns this lesson is the day the so called civil war gets heated. I'm just counting the days until the average political actor on every side understands that terrorism backed by powerful PR is the strongest political force in modern politics. Personally I'd like to either get to the middle of nowhere or leave the country by then.
