I'd assume the answer is yes. Being a nutjob can make you hate yourself and hating yourself can make you a nutjob, but if it's something like survivor's guilt they might recover once the extraordinary stress is removed and they've had time to talk to a decent person.
It's possible to hate yourself and be a moderate nut-job, but not a complete nut-job.
Shame has it's advantages, but some people will take it a bit far due to some earlier mental problems.
Hatred is the precursor to being a nutjob.
