Why is there a KotakuInAction and KotakuInAction2?
posted 5 years ago by RussianAgent13 5 years ago by RussianAgent13 +28 / -0

I saw KIA linked on the All Communities sidebar and from the most recent posts assumed it was dead, then I happened to notice a few KIA2 posts on communities.win and apparently this one is active.

Sorry if this has been discussed to death already. I just got here.

According to this one, you are to my left. Surely, that is not the case.

Possibly, or perhaps someone's words are always congruent with their actions. Most of the 2010s the SJW types called themselves Liberal, but their actions were anything but.

In this case, when their actions and words are indistinguishable from the rest of a group, its meaningless to say "yeah but they ain't so nyeh." Same with Antifa calling themselves anti-fascist, same with real Neo-Nazis claiming they aren't anti-black, or /pol/tards saying they are just "saying the truth."

Also as an aside, my "what I wish was the case" politics and "what reality we live in" politics are very different.

Apparently, she was mostly stupid-wing

Who knows, that one was a loose cannon no matter what umbrella she fell under. Though she was a great example of my previous point in that her screeching, name calling, and then banning everything made her indistinguishable from a generic SJW. Which is why everyone called her one.

Unlike you, very few of us had personal and close understanding of these people, so all we can judge them on is what we see and call it as it was. Double so if they are posting "fake political" tests.

If they were actually SJWs, they would have gotten the place banned. Believe me, they know how to if they wanted to.

Any sufficiently stupid person is indistinguishable from a SJW. Some of the Stormfags make arguments that are almost carbon copies of SJW arguments, just about Jews and not 'white men'.

Which is why everyone called her one.

Why, why do you force me to be a 'cuck'.

I think the criticism of her was quite unfair, at least initially. Even if she was a bad person or whatever at heart, the reason for the criticism was that she modded more so she got more people mad. Later on, she went full retard, perhaps because of the earlier unfair criticism & being doxxed, or maybe she was always rotten to the core. I don't know.

I think people confuse censorship for Social Justice generally. The arguments that are used for censorship are often those of SJWs.

Hell, I think sounding like an SJW may be inherent to moderators. If you noticed, DoM and I have started to sound like SJWs. E.g. using a convenient shorthand like 'violent speech' for stuff like 'inciting, cheering or glorifying violence'. When you have to censor, you may end up sounding like the people most censorship-happy.

I don't think they were actually ones, but its an easier term to use to make my point. I think they were Leftists, who are close enough to the opposition Leftists in terms of actions and words (that we were privy too, an important distinction because you had Super Special Secret info we didn't) that calling them such as a derogative like some of us do isn't off the mark.

Some of the Stormfags make arguments that are almost carbon copies of SJW arguments

I'm aware. When KIA was young I called myself a MRA SJW to best describe my position. You know, like our Impossible friend. Its the nouns being used, and sometimes the steps between A to B that distinguishes Stormfags from SJWs.

I think the criticism of her was quite unfair, at least initially.

We've been over this before a dozen times. Maybe half the criticism was unjustified, but it happened because she made a huge target of herself, made a huge spectacle when any was brought forth, and then the entire time cucked themselves to white knight for her. And regardless of that, it doesn't invalidate the completely legitimate criticisms of her tenure.

Yet everyone defended her by hyperfocusing on the first half, to dismiss the second half, and then doubledown to "stick it to the haters". Which is probably the most SJW/Leftist thing I could think of in how to handle criticism!!

I think people confuse censorship for Social Justice generally.

I can agree. Like I don't see the Diablo 2 remake changes as censorship (so far), only a missed understanding of the original intent and a different style. But people are up in full arms about it.

When you have to censor, you may end up sounding like the people most censorship-happy.

I think the methodology is important. There is a difference between "regrettably we cannot allow you to say this, our hands are tied" and "we ain't letting you talk about this here, get fucked bai bai lululul." That's the difference between you/DoM and someone like Shad/Pink. Most of the time, you can be a little bit like them but we all human.

Its also an important difference in stuff like our "free speech alternatives." The "loli" problem keeps coming up because the methodology to deal with it from those Alternatives crosses that line from "its illegal enough that we don't want the risk, sorry hands tied" and "YOU FUCKING COOMERS AINT WELCOME PEDOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

As in, I think our side is a little jumpy and paranoid about that stuff because we have been hit with it too many times, and that's regrettable itself. But the way its done is what paints it in a different picture for most reasonable people.
