That's about the depth of understanding of 'freedom' that I would expect from a GOP leader.
Yeah, but that's not exactly a proper concept of freedom. Capitalism is fundamental to freedom, but a genius doesn't even need Capitalism to make a million dollars. He doesn't even need freedom to do that. If he's smart enough, he can steal it, con people out of it, or persuade people to give him it.
The argument I've liked I saw years ago. Basically the vikings were the last people to experience true freedom before civilization covered the world. Imagine being on a boat with your buddies, sails at your back, wind in your hair, the stars above you, pissing in the ocean not knowing where you'll end up tomorrow. Maybe you'll raid a village and be set for life, get a few beautiful young wives, etc out of it. Or maybe you'll die, or maybe you'll be still sailing, who knows. But there was no one in the world to dictate what you could and couldn't do.
Fuck Ted Cruz. He's an actor just like 99% of our politicians.
We are all actors on the worlds stage. At least some actors are saying what I want to hear.
That's all he does. He says some good things but when it comes down to it he plays the D.C. game just like the rest of them.
