Just a side note about trees, groves, and ents.
I have heard from groundskeepers that trees can and do move but very, very slowly, maybe at most, one foot per decade if they're really boogying. Pretty much any plant can drag itself, depending on the soil conditions and how much light it's getting. I can see people who've worshipped in the same patch of trees for generations maybe noticing that the configuration changed since they were little, and their grandparents had said the same back then.
Because I have heard it said that the only reason plants can't get up and move is because chlorophyll is a bad choice for plants living under a yellow star. But eurythrophyll, which would be more efficient and effective, never happened to evolve.
Definitely something that could be caused by soil erosion, observation bias, or some other outside force. If they were actually moving they’re probably having more growth towards the side that gets more light.
Yes, that's right, they're generally heading towards a little more light, or a little less competition from the next tree over.
Plants do have more growth towards the side that gets more light.
Don't give monsanto any ideas
"Feed me, Seymour!"
We already do that with animals.
