It’s superior to the original but still not the best movie. New steppenwolf is like objectively superior as like an axe wielding triceratops man but the Amazon’s were too ham fisted and it was cringe. I actually even liked Cyborgs arc and the Joker exchange but just knowing how terribly every other character was bungled going forward from this movie kind of killed any excitement for me.
The bit at the beginning where all the Amazons are trying to stop Steppenwolf from getting the Motherbox and they're all yelling like kids when they're supposed to be some of the worlds foremost warriors... yeah, it was bad. That said, I'm pretty sure that was in the theatrical release, and the whole movie was that bad in that version.
I actually think DC works better on TV and Marvel works better in theaters, at least for their DCEU attempts, not for the Nolan trilogy or the latest Joker movie. DC on TV’s more lighthearted and campy and it works given the source material. Flash on TV was way better than Flash in this movie. Arrow’s just great for many of the seasons.
Being on TV with lower budgets also forces them to focus on character and story. Although I enjoyed the Snyder version, a good portion of it is overdone battles with hundreds of people that at this point I really give no shits about. It looked like a bunch of dark bugs bopping around, and given the power of all the characters doesn’t make sense since many of them can just level an entire army with a flick of the wrist.
TV’s probably better for most super hero things to save them from their own budgets. The only fight scenes I gave a damn about in this film were the smaller scenes where the water chick went against the big bad, the one at the end where they team up together against him, etc. No fucks given about them having hundreds of AI locus people flopping around in the dark, which is a sentiment that holds true for when Marvel does it too.
I haven't seen it yet. I unironically like BVS (Ultimate Edition), so I expect that I'll like this. After the Snyder Cut, I think that I'll be about done with the DCEU.
Same, I liked BVS. Not my favorite movie or whatever, but I liked the concept, even if it could have been executed better. I think it receives an undue amount of hate.
Worth a pirate for sure. Wonder Gal is super cringey especially one exchange with a little girl. The villains and story is waaay more cohesive though there is a lot of "weird prophecy dreams and stuff" that is jarring. I think Snyder eventually wanted to go into the Injustice storyline but with the new focus on Wonder thighs that all might be dead in the water.
I have normie friends and have in the past been dangerously close to being a normie myself, so I've seen a few episodes of The Big Bang Theory. In one episode someone makes chili with beans and Sheldon, being a Texan, declares that chili does not have beans and then declares "this is good, whatever it is." That is how I would describe the Snyder cut. It's not a good movie, as any movie that is 4 hours long better be Gone with the Wind and this is not. If you do have access to it I would recommend watching it but if you don't have four hours at 2:20ish part 5 starts and is a good place to break.
Giving money to people who want to kill me and rape children is against my moral code
The only sensible response I'm seeing in this thread.
So pirate it. It's on rarbg
I looked at the 4 hour runtime and said no thanks.
4 hours in 4:3 aspect ratio, mind you. I watched 30 secs before I said fuck this.
Gurdang kids these days. Back in my day everything was 4:3 and we liked it! I didn't buy this enormous 22 inch screen to only use 16 inches of it.
What the absolute fuck.
it was supposed to be two films apparently
It was much better than the original movie. A lot more cohesive.

Never saw the original. This one’s a 7.5. Also never saw the others so I had no idea what was up in the beginning.
I think Snyder should work in television.

Less woke shit more story and action

The difference apart from the runtime is this is the movie the 2017 movie was based on.
Its like comparing star wars to the family guy parody. Without the knowledge of the original movie, the parody doesn't quite work.

4 hours of ok capeshit.
