Corporate journalists are the enemy of the people.
FACT CHECK: FALSE! "We resemble that remark!"
I'm so tired of seeing this cycle play out. There are two sensible reactions to abuse received online. If it's a threat, report it to the police. If it's just mean words, fucking ignore it. There are huge numbers of people interacting online, the broad number of these interactions are positive or polite, yet repeatedly people choose to fixate on the minuscule number of negative interactions and then play the victim card.
When Sonja McLaughlan posts "In my car crying. Hope you're happy." she's either unimaginably stupid or playing the game for sympathy points. Does she seriously think that anyone who was abusing her will rethink their actions because she's upset? That was their goal, you silly bint. I imagine they're delighted that you've been reduced to blubbing in your car.
There are some wonderfully retarded argument put forwards in this article. I could go through them all, but that would take all day. I think my favourite is "A declaration of war is only words too". No it isn't you simpering pearl clutching buffoon. A declaration of war is made when a nation decides to engage the entirety of their military might against a foe. Making a clumsy analogy comparing this to what happened to Sonja McLaughlan only serves to highlight how utterly ludicrous your argument is.
Actually.... yeah
I'm sorry, but they shouldn't be allowed to be in jobs relating to male sports.
They have their own.
Not any more thanks to dementia Joe.
Can't wait for their butthurt on that to become obvious.
Journalists are the fourth estate and must accept the responsibility and consequences of that in exchange for the public trust.
Journalists are above reproach and criticism, and should be treated with the extreme skepticism and disdain that anything you’re not allowed to question should be.
Pick one and only one.
Hope she sees that, bro.
Oh no, someone called some dumb bitch "disgraceful" on the internet? Call the police!
We haven't been telling women to get back in the kitchen because we're oppressive and hateful. We've been saying it because we know they can't handle the stress of deep criticism and rigorous standards above baking a pie and roasting a chicken.
