Snowden went through Glenn Greenwald, who had the backing of the Guardian. Assange runs a rogue intelligence agency, which is a direct competitor like Project Veritas.
It wasn’t like he wanted to have to stay there. He was trying to get asylum in several other countries and then the state department flagged his passport.
Even if he does I expect the new government to invalidate Trump's pardons for whatever reason they make up that their sheep will "baa" along with in perfect unison.
You can't if you follow the rules. I would expect them to throw out the rules or just say that Trump was guilty of treason at the time he handed out those pardons so they don't apply. Media reports it that way, the sheep say "baa!" and so it is.
I am also at the point where I think it’s folly to believe that these people find themselves constrained by the laws and rules of our land.
The Democratic leadership just in the past couple months have committed multiple acts of seditious behavior, while simultaneously levying that claim on both President Trump and the populist right.
As long as no formal consequences are enacted against those who commit these actions, they are effectively above the law.
Trump might pardon Assange still but he will never pardon Snowden is my guess.
They both deserve pardons but a Snowden pardon has so much more baggage attached to it since he actually got asylum in Russia.
That enemy organizations like the ACLU and even Polite Society in general support Snowden but not Assange makes me wonder about him.
Not enough to oppose a pardon, but enough to wonder why he has such broad support.

Nah, they hate Assange because he dared leak stuff that made Clinton look bad. That's when the left turned on him. Simple as that.
Leaking stuff on Clinton is what defines WikiLeaks as a rogue operation instead of a good ally using their platform for antiracism and social justice.
Yeah, he was a darling of the left before he hurt Hillary with his #fakenews. It was eye-opening for me to see that happen in real time
Media would spin it as confirmation he was a russian agent as well.

You cant invalidate a pardon. They could just charge him with something else though.

The warhawks that Assange and Snowden embarassed are about to retake power at a time of unprecendent political instability in the US.
Pardoning the two men who did more to shatter their grip on the country than anyone else is probably not wise.
