Today we will discuss which games should win our award for GAME OF THE YEAR.
Please consider what you would like to argue should be the winning item for each of the passing categories.
Consider who you would like to nominate as your electors. You may choose 3 electors to cast votes for you on your behalf. Persuade them as necessary. You may choose yourself once. The top 12 most nominated electors will assemble as our electoral tribunal, and will vote on the final categories. Feel free to message me directly with your nomination, or comment your nominations publicly. The electors are allowed to vote their own conscience.
This will be your last chance to nominate electors. Look over the previous discussions to see who you agree with and think would vote the way you want.

I finally started playing Doom Eternal so I thought I'd add some comments on it. Personally I'd put it up for best shooter but I wouldn't be bothered by a GOTY.
So far I've super enjoyed it. I've played about 3 hours into the campaign. I'm playing on an Xbox One X. Graphics are excellent and it runs really well. I'm sure it runs fine on other things as well as it just seems well polished in that respect. It's been all-around fun with very little tedium and no politics. If you played 2016 Doom then you get the basic premise of the gameplay.
Something I'd forgotten about but I love that I can push myself to the higher difficulty levels and feel like I'm being offered a fun challenge. FPS games have always been my favorite, but I've gotten less tolerant of difficulty in them anymore. Mainly because they've turned into one or both of hide behind a wall, pop out for every single enemy to shoot you before you can respond, and pick them off one by one. Move generally only when the truckload of grenades force you to. Not in this game. Cover is nearly worthless. I wouldn't even say it has great AI, but I've always thought enemy ability and level design to top AI anyway. In short, it's offering me a challenge but not frustration. For me, that's super rare.
Other cool things, menus offer a ton of options to customize things to play the way you'd like and they are easy to move around in. I prefer to turn off some of the UI in games myself, so they don't become a follow the big white dot and encourage me to look around. All those options are totally there. They managed to cut way back on the loading screens that Doom 2016 had and that's a huge bonus too. I always like weapon modding systems and it's limited for me so far, but seems to present itself as being something that can really grow.
It doesn't appear there's a pay to win type setup but there are a lot of little things to earn to use in multiplayer. I'm not sure the difficulty of obtaining these as I probably won't do multiplayer. I'm too old and garbage to keep up with the world of streamer hackers anymore. I don't think you can buy anything. The only thing it's tried to sell me is the DLC expansion, which I will eventually get as it appears to be a legit expansion and not some cosmetic BS.
Now, things I don't like. I don't need the Tomb Raider style platforming, just remove it. I'm fine jumping around and stuff, but swinging on bars and climbing walls can stay in adventure games. So far I've been running out of ammo too often even though I don't feel like I'm wasting shots. This is Doom and I prefer to not have to force myself to be careful and make sure every single bullet is maximized. I can't tell if they are just trying to push me to the chainsaw for ammo mechanic early on or if it will stay that way. I've gotten into a couple scenarios where I had larger monsters to deal with and nothing to shoot at them. I also hope there are some secret power-ups or something. I like trudging around for secrets but so far it's collectibles. Throw me a supercharge or a blue armor in a secret once and a while for my trouble.
Would you like to nominate it?
I think I already did for best shooter and that can stay.
I might have put up for GOTY, but as I've continued to play it the things I don't like have gotten much more emphasized to the point that they are taking fun away. It's still a fine game for people that want that type of gameplay, but for a super long time fan of Doom I'm getting disappointed and glad I didn't buy it at launch.
So, I'll just leave all these comments here in case the electors would like to read my opinions.
