Video and pictures from the incident show a member of the Proud Boys lying on the ground and being treated for a stomach wound after confronting the anti-Trump protester.
The victims were transported to the hospital, according to the Washington Post, and were said to be in a critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries.
It is not known if the suspect was taken into custody after the stabbing or if they escaped.
Washington State Police confirmed the shooting at around 2pm PST on Capitol Campus in Olympia and said that a suspect had been detained but gave no further details on them or on the condition of the victim.

Thousands of maskless rallygoers who refuse to accept the results of the election turned downtown Washington into a falsehood-filled spectacle Saturday, two days before the electoral college will make the president’s loss official.
But at night, the scene became violent. At least four people were stabbed near Harry’s Bar at 11th and F streets NW, a gathering point for the Proud Boys, a male-chauvinist organization with ties to white nationalism.
The victims were hospitalized and suffered possibly life-threatening injuries, D.C. fire spokesman Doug Buchanan said. It was not immediately clear with which groups the attackers or the injured might have been affiliated.
This is not a baseless allegation, but "the election isn't over yet" is.
Every single one of these journalists refused to say the word "Antifa" in all of their reporting.

Up until the recent shooting at a protest I would have said any non gun related event would make it clear it wasn't the right instigating what with the near complete phobia the left have towards t2A so when they say knives were involved here balance of probability is antifa were the attackers.
I saw one of the stabbings streamed live. The guy holding the knife had an oversized dirty hoodie on and big dreads. Now, I don't have all the evidence here, but I am going to go out on a limb and say the attacker was affiliated with antifa.
I see where you are coming from on knives vs guns but antifa types definitely carry guns and use them. Michael Reinoehl (rest in shit) stalked and shot dead a Trump supporter in Portland. Idiots at CHOP shot four (I think) people leaving two dead. Moorish sovereign citizen affiliate Warlord Ras was handing out rifles there, too. NFAC managed to shoot three people. They just happened to be NFAC members as well.
The right is starting to fight back, and in large enough numbers that the police are unable to stop them. Major change since June.
Because it's not just the right now, regular people are joining in fighting against antifa/blm/commies. Which in itself is both good and really bad.
Fighting in the streets because the elites fucked everything up is often fertile breeding ground for real fascists. And if the elite continue on their current course of madness, they'll regret stopping Trump because whomever the populace turn to after him won't play nearly as nicely.
