I wonder what was the "unintentional bias" they clame to be fixing? I assume that it is that white male content creators have to many views, they should just go ahead and say that. Youtube is a racist pos company and I wish it would go down in flames, but unfortunately that will never happen.
There definitely are successful black creators, but this will not stop the white discrimination. Is all about the metric you can sell, if the average black creator makes the same as the average white creator then you go to the top x. Like there not enough in the top 10 or top 100 creators. You see it all the time with the women in top 100 what ever.
Then they will then use the proportion that they think is the best. If they can get away with using the black 13% from US they will if not they will use the global population. I doubt there are a lot of content creators in Uganda.
As long as they sell propaganda and not reality they will always manage to wrap their racist behavior in a nice equity package.
Corporations like this tend to no longer have a single direction. While I am sure there are parts that care about profit the individuals that push forward this ideas do not care, they are ideologs. Those who care about profit are easily silenced by all the word salat thrown at them with equity, diversity and progress.
