How does a virus with 99.9% survival rate cause so much fear? It’s a real virus of course but the Dems/media used the hysteria to perfection. Now I do feel that Trumps personality turned some people off but I am honestly in shock how this constant reporting of cases not deaths but cases scared so many people.
They also presented it as if Trump could stop the virus by snapping his fingers.
Sorry for the rant but I hope small businesses and regular folks ignore any future lockdown mandates.
not 1 in 1000. it could certainly be worse, but it's more like 1 in 100 for our elderly pop. pretty good for ssi or sdi, but still quite unfortunate.
True. I totally understand telling elderly and high risk people to stay home or wearing masks around them but overall it has been overblown.
Thing is, the flu can be deadly to these groups, too.
But, many people simply don't know the difference between a flu, colds, and "the sniffles", or just don't bother distinguishing beyond how lousy they feel, and headlines don't scream about old-age-home inmates dying of seasonal flu visitors bring in as a matter of course every year.
yeah, but this was really a contain or spread event. local government decided this was a spread event. not my first choice, but we are where we are. the president has next to no input on it. if there's a federal lockdown, it going to be unconstitutional on its face.
True but being unconstitutional hasn’t stopped politicians in a very long time. I live in Texas so I doubt they would do crazy local lockdowns.
You're right. Most of the current federal government is built on overextension of the commerce clause. from drug laws to the Civil Rights Act. Being in TX is a good buffer, but the framing of COVID should still be rejected.
