Every hospital/care worker I know is working 50 hour weeks right now.
I don't understand how some of the only people working overtime can be suddenly be struggling to make ends meet any more than anyone else is. It sounds like complete bullshit to me.
Skimmed the article. Headline is misleading. They are talking about nursing students. So the typical trope of she is stripping to pay for nursing school. Never actually met a nursing student who was a stripper though. But some hospitals have actually cut staff since a lot of people have been forced to stay at home. Less people going in for injuries or illnesses you typically get from outside the house.
Most hospitals have a sort of state of emergency protocol that comes with massive budget cuts and wage freezing to prevent earning overtime pay. It’s as stupid as it sounds but is very much real and strangling medical workers with overwork for no extra benefit.
They are morons with their money and can never get out of it. It's all too common. I've got so many friends and family that think I'm some crazy rich guy and most of them make more than me and always have. The big difference, I try to never repeat financial mistakes and never go backwards. That means not buying stupid things unless I can afford it and not getting loans to pay off my loans. Of course to the Commie uprising, I'm evil for actually bothering to build up a savings account and not owe my life to the banks.
