I thought suggesting that it was going to be endemic was a "conspiracy theory" pushed by anti-lockdown trolls.

The modern label of "conspiracy theory" is much like the modern usage of "racist".

It's not so much an actual descriptive term as it is an attempt to silence people by way of abuse and shaming. They expect you to change your mind once you've been sufficiently socially shamed, but we know that's not how intelligent and scientifically accurate debates actually work. What's right is right, no matter how you feel about it.

The modern left are all about silencing anyone who disagrees with their insane ideas whereas modern centrist/conservative types tend to advise people to read, watch, and learn as much as they can about all the arguments and to come to their own conclusions.

You worded it exactly how I view it.

The left no longer cares about discussion, because a decent chunk of what they base their current moral framework does not hold up.

Ideas need minds to seed and grow, but whenever they are based on easily falsifiable conclusions, questioning the ideas kill them off.

The pseudo-religious dogma coming from the left needs to be protected from criticism, or it will fall apart and all of their power will die off. Shouting down is the only way they can protect them.

That’s a very feminine approach to social norms.

Good, now let's stop caring about it just like we don't care about the flu.

Well, I kind of wish people cared a LITTLE bit about the goddamn flu. While the masks can bloody well go already, the hand wash and personal space should have been a thing all along. You don't have to breathe your nasty in my face two inches away from me for me to hear you, I'm not that deef. And maybe some new spaces will be designed better, especially things like grocery stores where lines interfere with shoppers, things were designed horribly by people who don't give a shit about anything in the first place, it seems.

And oh, I force my dog to wear her "good puppy medals" so that people can see she had her shots and shit. Can't trust a two-legger to not be full of lord-knows-what. Stand back and stop breathing on me.

Fuck you and your cowardice.

And to fuck with creepy-crawlies who want to stand in my face. Even non-humans have a sense of personal space. Weirdly enough, though, the damn Denisovans don't. Maybe if they weren't such creepycrawlies that eat everything and act like the world is a sardine tin, those little cowards wouldn't need their filthy, face-hiding masks like a bunch of criminals.

And to fuck with people who screech about "dog germs", too.

And yep, any would be "migrants" should be health-checked, and crap like AIDS should have barred people from leaving their home countries from the get-go.

And a lot of shit really IS designed badly, and should have been redesigned ages ago, not for health, just for the sake of common fucking sense, and ease of getting around.

Third worlders coming here and getting asylum is so dangerous. You have to get vaccines and meds to go their countries yet they come here and bring it with them.
