I actually thought Mallrats was his best movie. It was kind of funny and stupid and would have been great if that's the only movie he made like that. Instead he's made dozens. The Jay and Silent Bob Reboot was one of the worst movies I'd seen in years (why did two of the worst movies in decades- J&SBR and Wonder Woman 84- come out without one word about how fucking awful they are?).

My theory is men are either at rock bottom or close to it and women have a ways to go. Check out all the articles about women hating their lives, working 40+ hours a week and regretting not having a family or a husband. It's going to get much much worse for them. This has happened in history before and there is always a huge swing in the other direction.

Despite women's constant complaining and whining about how hard their lives are, men have it much harder. They are the ones in the sewers and jumping into whirlpools, working on oil rigs or in mines. How many women take deadly, filthy jobs? Men have no other option. Many times it's take those jobs or starve.
Despite the crowing about how hard women's lives are they always have other options. If some man won't rescue them the state will.
In the past men didn't just work for money or status- they worked to help and care for those weaker than them and they worked to protect women. Now those weaker and women (often one and the same) have attacked men and blamed them for everything. They have been run out of jobs and taken pay cuts while often taking on more work. If they don't have more than one job they are doing the work of the women that do less than their share.
So they are opting out. Women wanted things equal. You got it and good luck.
Predictably things are falling apart. In a more macro- sense, the above paragraphs apply to families, relationships, the economy, etc. You wanted things equal, men are no longer killing themselves for a group that hates them and we are seeing women failing and growing miserable. SSRIs, alcohol and other drugs are being used at skyrocketing rates for women. Women are learning not only are they having trouble doing the jobs they are hired for but they have trouble maintaining relationships or finding anyone to give a fuck about them beyond that hole between their legs.
