I have lefty friends and a common thing is for them to crow about how such and such company is doing great after promoting the latest insanity. They truly believe the Go Broke part doesn't exist. How could Google, Microsoft, Amazon and other companies large enough to be their own countries fall?

As for the second part, the vast majority of people who do cultural research are idiots. They don't understand it's just hanging out with people in the culture. I've learned tons more by taking buddies from another culture to a lab party than acting like the idiot professors I have met. The vast majority go in with their own ideas of what they are and what answers they will find. Check out Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich as an example. Heck, check out Laramie Project or so many more. Then, when someone who can actually do research comes in, they will put that person to the side and treat them like some kind of special needs kid who doesn't understand 'reality'. I had that happen with a project last year. They hired me to do the research, then ignored it for their own opinions. The proposals they made were rejected.

So yes, they don't know and don't care.

I think they want star wars, but only their own fan fiction of it. Rey is a Mary Sue and can't exist if other characters exist.

I would be hit by so many 'mothers' it would leave a dent.

It's still there in some circles. My first name is also a family name.

There's an ex-wife involved with this. If he wants to see his kids, he has to play along.

It surprises me how much of the story is military in ST TNG.

Seeing as some of the biggest names in AI imaging use Discord I wouldn't call it a gamer thing at all. Heck, conventions use them to keep the volunteers and above in the know on what is happening.

There are some segmented codes being introduced. There is a bit of a gold rush and most people don't know what they are doing. I see the same with VR before it. There are ways to do it right, but most people want the money not the time to figure things out.

I think this is why Nintendo is so big, they think things all the way through. Tons of things they have introduced have been implemented even by competition. Camera movement for example is a mouse and an N64 controller combined for almost all games.

I look forward to two generations from now as we get double hyphenated names.

I'm a researcher, it's something I do without thinking about it. It seriously helped me get back to sleep this morning. I don't need to be hypnotized to find happiness.

I love the route between Butte and Cour d'alene. Its a good idea to listen to the right music there.

There was a great show called Gransazer. The ending credits song was so good I wasn't allowed to think about it while driving.
