KIA2 reminds me of the 2000s internet, which was a fun place to be. Truly the golden era of the internet. Then came social media which linked up to people's cellphones (their lifeblood). Now every normie was online and fed into the growth of the uber social media websites that soon dominated all forms of communication. Once that happened the activists, corporations, and governments began to coopt everything online, which was easy because all communication was already centralized into a handful of websites. The whole process only took about 5 years.
Social media of today has turned a good chunk of our society into braindead morons without the ability to even form an original thought. In all seriousness they frighten me more than isis or the taliban ever could.
People have been trained to be braindead morons not just due to social media. The education, media, and news, are all working perfectly as intended. It's no accident that the majority of the populace is like this by now. It's been the culmination of at least 70 years of indoctrination.
Because the opposition has essentially infinite money and just about full institutional control. The fact that we wanted honest reporting about video games was enough to make us a significant target because very few other people have made meaningful defence against them. The ones who have stood their ground either were assassinated or had their countries thrown into war and poverty. Many of us would have even been satisfied if Jason Schreier was fired or reprimanded, but they did not want to make any concessions at all. This has led to over 5 years of fallout and the dedicated effort to archive and research what has been going on.
They want to control social media more than they do now, and GamerGate meant they did not have control at all. It's obvious now that Reddit has been working with Mossad agents like Ghislane Maxwell, and likely every major site people visit has been similarly compromised.
They will use every trick in the book to make people submit and become willing slaves.
I live in west Seattle which has been severed since March from the mainland/city by the failure of a major connecting bridge. Failure is the progressive model for Seattle.
In a taxi the other day I was talking to the driver who was African, Ethiopian. Great guy good English, there is a huge Ethiopian community here. We drove by some decrepit white Seattle activists in their grey haired 70's who were holding up BLM signs on the corner. The guy is an immigrant from fucking Africa, I asked him conversationally what he thought about Black Lives Matters?
He said it was hard and he didn't have anything else to say. There was nothing about his demeanor that said 'I support this cause and have enthusiasm for it,' he shut that conversation down. Also during the drive he added that he had three kids and had been a physics prof in Ethiopia. I gave him an extra 20 bucks.
-All incidental, anecdotal, and dangerous normal observations welcome in this thread. The system is ginning up conflicts and spinning them into the stratosphere.
I think there's a multitude of different reasons why, much like everything. Two particular reasons that stick out in my head are a relatively small community and lack of purity spiral, at the moment.
A small community will, almost always, be a more civil community. When more people come in, the chances of hostile elements entering increases. Which is why when there are barriers to entry, a community often thrives in quality (gatekeep your hobbies people, for its sake).
The second one is a purity spiral. If you intend to be part of the regressive/ puritan left, it's not enough to be in support of far left socioeconomic ideologies, causes and "allies". There must be enthusiastic and ceaseless support of them, matched only by your vigorous condemnation of blasphemy. For most, this will push them away, either because of an ideological difference or a general feeling of uneasiness from the obsessive drive. But then there are those who don't have means of escaping it and "break". We're all here for differing, yet broadly similar, reasons and we don't feel the need to shout our beliefs from the rooftops and manipulate, abuse and browbeat everyone else into doing the exact same.
Because halfKiA, like so many other places, became compromised by people who knew they were right even though they could never show why they were right.
Divide and conquer is only one way to play.
It's odd to see those who consider themselves deviants so homogenised into compliant normalcy that they miss all of the grace notes and nuance which makes life worth living.
Okay, but so, we can't keep doing as we've been doing. It's not enough to just oppose SJ because these freaks infest everything that breathes. We must build our own parallel institutions that actively oppose leftism.
Which needs we need to start building tight-knit community structures that function as are own institutions that are explicitly opposed to Leftism.
How do we do this as KiA? Obviously bitching at SJW Journalists does nothing but legitimize their gatekeeping positions within the corporate structure. What can we all do to unify our little band of misguided gamers into a more defensible structure?
I have some ideas, but I don't want to push the community because doing that tends to drop people off like shoving a bucket of water.
I think we'll need a place to access all the different available resources. We could use this place as a communication hub to the outside world (out of mainstream).
Secondarily, I still think our niche should remain gaming. Maybe we should focus on game awards

While I appreciate you being aware of this, I think we could use some more open brainstorming, and that you should treat a thread presenting such ideas as a call to discussion rather than an edict from a mod.
"Be the change you want to see" and all that, but my specialties keep me busy enough seeking out the demoralized to try and ease them out of despair. Of course, I'd like to see some productivity - I'm just aware that I'm not gonna be one of the guys to kick things off here.
I don't know what kind of volume there is for the resources. Smaller amount would probably work best in sidebar. Bigger amount would work best in a wiki..but should still be linked in sidebar.
Anyway, I want to request the rules (or at least a link to them) get put in the sidebar. It'd make it less annoying to look them up when trying to decipher your reason for removing comments.
That's fair enough. I should do that anyway, but I think it would make the sidebar too long. Maybe a Wiki with the rules in them, and a link in the Sidebar like what we have on Reddit.
I remember years ago when I was still unaware of the majority of what was going on and spent time lurking on "normal" Reddit. I would always see replies to downvoted comments pointing out what subjects people posted on. HalfKIA, was often one of them, and I was curious about what was wrong with the sub.
I checked it out and all I saw was anti-SJ posts and people calling out game journos, nothing hateful or "racist", and it made me start questioning things more and more. I wondered why "Gamergate" had such a bad name, so I started looking in to it.
I started visiting Half often to see what was going on. I didn't fully understand all of the references, but I started to learn, and I started to notice how connected all of the games media sites were. I was fascinated. I soon noticed that there were a lot of posts that were being removed because of rule 3.
I quickly got tired of seeing nothing but 20 Narwitz tweets everyday I logged on, and I saw someone mention KIA2. Naturally I checked it out, and it was so much better.
There was a wider range of topics discussed and I was able to see more of how shit the media was. This place helped me see more of what was wrong with so many industries. It inspired me to create my own stuff, and has given me motivation to start developing my own games, and hopefully bring back some of that pre-woke charm.
It makes me sound like a faggot, but I love this place, and what we have made it become.
Edit: To add to this and answer the question more obviously, we had to go because we counter the narrative and even existing on the site allowed people to find us. If the mods didn’t private us the sub probably would have been banned by now.
Where the fuck is everybody? r/kia2 was hopping. I understand that some will not migrate, but that sub is closed. This place seems like a ghost town in comparison

As they used to say, it's an endless September.

It wasn’t Schreier, it was Nathan Grayson.
Right I got my names mixed up. Schreier still covered for Grayson and should have had some responsibility as his editor and boss too.

Let's hear your ideas. I've been toying around with the idea of a website that we could link to for soft redpills.
I think we'll need a place to access all the different available resources. We could use this place as a communication hub to the outside world (out of mainstream).

I think a good start would be to try and pull all the alt-resources together in a wiki or sidebar.
I don't know what kind of volume there is for the resources. Smaller amount would probably work best in sidebar. Bigger amount would work best in a wiki..but should still be linked in sidebar.

Hey I'm doing my part to keep the racism and hate alive.
Let's stoke those embers boys and never forget that the majority of those we've been fighting against are Jewish women.
Where the fuck is everybody? r/kia2 was hopping. I understand that some will not migrate, but that sub is closed. This place seems like a ghost town in comparison
I guess people can’t be bothered to actually go to a separate website these days and just choose to stay on reddit and find another subreddit.
