I couldn't believe it when he pulled this stunt. Absolutely absurd. Why do I still pay to watch this shit...
I don't know.
Why do you?
You'd be better off driving an amateur course for yourself. Or even just playing a racing game with all of us here.
Well, honestly it was a rhetorical question, but I guess I can answer. It also explains how I've become more hard-line on certain positions.
Looking back at what I grew up with, the majority of it has been taken from me by women and their pressure groups. I don't really have much left of what I used to like even 3-4 years ago, let alone my actual childhood. I guess I'm clinging to the last thing I really have that isn't just a memory.
Seth McFarlane endorsed Biden officially a few weeks ago, so that's the last TV show I could tolerate knocked out.
Epic went full BLM, which was honestly a pretty hard hit for me. They recently deleted all the bullshit, but is that enough? I'll probably decide after this awful Marvel tie-in is over, I wouldn't want to come back for that.
Racing games are a sore subject for me right now. PG went full BLM too, banning confederate flags (Never cared, but it's the principle. I mostly just use manufacturer colors, designs look cheap) and creating a whole list of designs you can't have. As for T10, the other half of that team, they actually donated to BLM.
Boycotting is really hard, my list is nearly as long as the infamous "Traitors of America" list from OAG.
On the positive side, I've never been better at saving money.
Do you have a race track near where you live? Do you IRL know someone who races you could throw some coin at as a sponsor? Whatever money you would spend on watching pro racing would go a lot further given to a local driver.
Something I find myself thinking a lot is "less Little League, more Sandlot". We as a people have lost the ability to self-organize, despite it never being easier to do so. It's a skill I think we need to re-learn, because I don't see the current situation of us being "strangers in a strange land" changing anytime soon.
I think you are strawmanning women into a boogey-man that you can rationalize your attitudes over.
You need to stop spending money on corporate products. You'll do a lot better with independent companies and development,
Not really. BLM is 100% female-led, operating on the basis of the privilege theory created by feminists in 1989. Most of the things that have fallen to the left have fallen because of female involvement or because of backing a pressure group they were instrumental in. You name a left-wing movement, they're front and center using it to dehumanize men somehow. Even gay rights, which was a majority male movement, got co-opted and used for their ends to the point that it got a new title that put them first.
I don't think I'm creating a boogeyman as such. I'm just making a lot of connections between certain events that have happened and claims their groups made in the past. I'd like to be wrong, and every so often I see something that makes me wonder if I am, but then I see something which confirms even my most questionable of ideas soon after.
Indie games were literally patient zero of the SJW/Female supremacist/Progressive curse. I'm not sure why you'd think they'd be better now.
I can tell you why I still watch...because several other drivers have actually resisted this nonsense and been willing to answer for it. Sure, they aren't perfect and I haven't picked into every one of their political views, but I have no problem standing tall and supporting a sport that allows their guys to open defend NOT kneeling in support of violence and politicization of their sport. Because if I look around, that's something in short supply.
Most of the time I just pretend Mercedes isn't in the race anyway. It's a lot more fun that way. If they are top of the podium I don't care to watch the podium ceremony.
I've never liked Hamilton, because he's always been all about nothing but seeking more attention. I've never felt like he was genuine, but instead would do anything for social media points. I laughed my ass off when the penalties worked so hard against him last week.
Who has from the current grid has resisted it? I haven't followed F1 at all this year so I'm not up on this stuff. Props to them I guess.
Regarding Hamilton - I tried to ignore his antics in the past and just respect him for being a really good driver, but in the past couple years he's just become insufferable. I was sure once all this BLM stuff kicked into high gear he would be all over it.
Charles LeClerc probably the most vocal about it. He defended himself online after being called a racist for not kneeling and said he didn't support the protests having turned violent or that politicians were using the protest for political purposes.
Magnussen said something along the lines of he didn't want to support the BLM political organization. Verstappen I can't remember exactly but I think he at least implied that the kneeling antics were an empty gesture.
This all with Hamilton droning on about how all the other sports are having their unified gestures and whining that F1 isn't following suit. His complaining has not really worked though because a decent amount of the grid doesn't seem all that interested in it. Honestly, I think if Hamilton wasn't in F1 they might not have even done anything at all, he's the one pushing it all.
