“These smelly, stupid, violent savages are obviously supposed to represent black people! Change it!”
It never ceases to amaze me that they can have this attitude without a hint of self awareness, especially since there are non-white humans in pretty much every fantasy world where Orcs appear.
also, given that its an RPG, surely they know that you can make a human character with dark skin.... pffft who am I kidding, these people dont actually PLAY D&D hahaha
I've tried to have this discussion on some D&D forums, pointing out that believing orcs are black people is in itself racist and it was the normal way to look at it for years. Turns out no one cares and virtue signaling and fighting racism is so important that you need to force racism in things that are not racist.
And D&D or Pathfinder forums do not stop there. There was a lot of discussions about how hell was sexist for not having 50-50 male to female distribution (I think there are like only 3 female rulers of hell in D&D). Or how a race of blood apes in a jungle type continent exists and since Africa has jungles then it is racist, if you are going to make a race of apes you are not going to make them in the desert but hey who am I to argue. The support for this retarded ideas is huge,
Non-human races got bonuses, because humans were the versatile Mary Sues that could do anything and be anything, while the demi/non-humans either couldn't be certain classes at all, or could only progress so far in the non-stereotrope classes. It was a balancing thing.
It worked on the Man is the Measure Of All Things trope, which they actually seem to love and don't want to break down any more than any other religious types who think Man is the tippy top of the Great Chain of Being (the Hindus' is no different, though instead of failures, non-humans are evil spirits that failed to be good at being human instead.)
She's a blue-haired lesbian exercise-a-phobic hack-writer for The Mary Sue, Bustle, Bitch Media and so on. Now she's the "gaming lead" at CBR, and of course she's not a gamer at all. Just a giant "culture critic" sack o' shit.
White humans and elves to get racial handicaps because of internalized racism.
But seriously trying to mandate progressiveness in something whose operation is at the total discretion of the DM is laughable, he/she will change your D&D or Warhammer or Whitewolf rules to whatever the hell they feel like because it's their fucking game session and fuck off.
They can still corrupt the products themselves, and force people to slog through Woke propaganda to get to the crunch. No more prewritten campaigns, either.
You could make an argument for changing "race" to "species" in the case of D&D; Orcs, Elves, Humans and such are different enough. Eliminating the gameplay differences between them is completely idiotic.
Weren't they originally put it to make people have some variety and DIVERSITY in the game?
Full orcs as a PC race is a relatively recent development in the entire scope of TTRPGs. Players had the ability to pick half-orc as a race for a while before they added in the option for full blooded orcs. They weren't really a "diversity" add, per se, but more of a "the players want to play as one of the bad guy races" thing, similar to when Drizz't became the new hot shit in D&D fiction and suddenly they rushed to set up the ability to play as an edgelord Drow.
As someone else stated, the perks and drawbacks of playing a non/demi-human race in D&D are there to balance out the fact that humans are basically the Swiss Army Knives of the setting. Removing racial bonuses is pretty much pulling a Harrison Bergeron on the game as a whole, making one wonder why the hell they'd bother picking a non-human race to begin with.

Troll, orc, orsimer, dunmer, bosmer, mermaid... I don't care what you call the pointy eared fags. They all need to die.
Elder Scrolls elves are the fugliest, man.
I genocided them by installing Furry Age of Skyrim. I don't care what anyone thinks or says, it's a lot easier on MY eyeballs.
Hey, Dunmer and Orcs are based.
Malacath dont want no scrubs

Samantha Puc, the author, is exactly the sort of piece of shit you imagine would write this article.
Your link doesn't work for me. A tranny?
Weird. It was working. Could they have wiped it? Here's another go of it there.

But tranny was a good guess.
