This is just trickery. The author is modeling two different problems. The first is "If I have 1 rooster and 1 hen, I have 2 chickens in all." The other is "If I had 2 adult chickens last year and they have 1 chick, I have 3 chickens in all."
Alternatively, you could consider it hidden information. "If I have 1 rooster and 1 hen, and they have 1 chick, I have 3 chickens."
In any case, if we allow this kind of thinking, 1+1 = Any positive integer or 0.
It's not "trickery" - he's arguing for SUBJECTIVE math where "facts" can mean different things depending upon "context". Y'know like... race... or sex... or whatever the communists into thought control want you to believe today. The point is to take away your agency. YOU are never qualified to form your own opinion as to what is real - those in charge will tell you citizen.
That's why there's "57 genders" (with new ones being discovered every day). That's why Feminists are now evil if they don't believe that men are women.

Addition doesn't mean fucking. It means combining two sets of units into a single set of units which represents the summation of the previous sets.
