You're totally (and hopefully) right. However, as a self-admitted Trump voter, I never wanted to win like this.
I want two+ parties who both fucking love America and its ideals to compete against each other on the best way to realize those ideals.
This is just civil cold-war. This is people who love America vs people who want to see it destroyed. How have so many Americans become so poisoned against freedom and greatness?
Even if you think America has a past riddled with horrible things, it still stands as a symbol of greatness. Just because our predecessors have fallen short of perfection, it doesn't mean we should abandon our hopes and beliefs in something greater.
What symbol do these people follow, other than destruction and anarchy? This whole thing saddens me.
We waved bye-bye to that back in the 60's when Democrats figured out they could pander to minorities for votes. From there it was just a matter of time for them to become overly lazy and corrupt.
It doesn't. Native Americans weren't peaceful noble savages, and black Americans have proven the fears of the founders, abolitionists, and slave-holders correct.
We have a present riddled with terrible ignorance.
