If you compare the GDP lines (a garbage metric, but it's apples to apples over time), the US had a huge dip but mostly recovered back the original trajectory.
Canada had a smaller dip but never recovered. The slope of the line is the same but it's been shifted down by what we lost in the recession.
The point is, though your policies are failing, do not copy ours!
As bad as the USA is, Canada is worse.
