there's nothing stopping American artists from owning their ip, or signing away their ips. just because the original marvel/DC artists treated the comics like disposable entertainment like pulp and signed away the characters, doesn't mean the copy right laws are at fault

You're dense. IP shouldn't be purchaseable. It shouldn't be ownable. The concept is contrary to natural law.
